This is an exciting opportunity in Rocky Mount, NC for a Maintenance Supervisor. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Plans and executes the preventive, predictive, and condition based maintenance of production equipment. Attends to breakdowns, diagnoses faults, and oversees equipment improvements and time-critical repairs.

  • Oversee the work of teams of maintenance personnel, including technicians.

  • Manages spare parts inventory and may use a computerized maintenance management system.

  • Manage maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) supplies.

  • Leads Facilities, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering on problem identification, trouble shooting and equipment issue resolution and repair.

  • Performs complex equipment engineering design evaluations; recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.

  • Establish preventative maintenance processes to ensure equipment is available and capable.

  • Coaches line employees on maintenance procedures.

  • Coaches and mentors less experienced Maintenance Engineers.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree required.


8 plus years of relevant work experience required.

  • Implement a Planned Maintenance System using fundamental tools of TPM to reduce losses and improve technician's skills

  • Provide support to operations in the administration of autonomous maintenance

Additional Experience Preferred:

  • Manufacturing in the heavy equipment or the automotive industry

  • Familiar with maintenance management of transfer lines, flexible machining and assembly lines

  • Familiar with implementing step by step TPM procedures to improve downtime and eliminate losses

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
