This is an exciting opportunity in Mineral Points, Wisconsin for a 2nd Shift Team Lead- HOURLY.

Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for leading the department.

Key Responsibilities:

§Start up lines in morning

§Responsible for achieving daily cell schedule; Update dashboard real-time and accurately

§Assist Team Manager with Daily Resource balancing

§Handle minor maintenance calls

§Work on Line / Fill in for resource gaps (absenteeism, restroom breaks, meetings, etc)

§Make sure materials and proper tooling is brought to the line

§Return unused material to proper place

§Scrap Reporting / Check-out

§Responsible for Line Safety / Implement JDI Safety Improvements

§Assist Team Manager in daily resource staffing

§Ensure employee training is complete and documented

§Enter Maximo – work orders

§Partner with the Team Manager in the employee performance review process – Collect and organize documentation around the employee performance and discipline and make recommendation to Team Manager

§Provide feedback and guidance to employees on a daily basis

§Support CI/Lean/COS Initiatives (hr by hr charts, X bar & R charts, improvement initiatives, etc)

§Promote work area safety and cleanliness (5S – Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)

§Promote quality workmanship that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations

§Perform other duties as directed by the Team Manager


Skills & Abilities:

§Possesses a good understanding of manufacturing operations and related processes

§Ability to lead team members fairly and effectively and to act as the technical expert in the area of responsibility

§Strong communication skills

§Conflict Management


§Good attendance

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
