This is an exciting opportunity in Jamestown, NY for an Assembly Team Member.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

Perform required electrical tasks by raising work orders and completing assigned work. Once work is completed close out work orders on Maximo System.

Willing to take direction from Plant Engineering lead electrician and work constructively with other Facility Electricians.

 Highly motivated worker who is a self-starter that can work alone and with others as needs arise.

 Trouble shoot, inspect, maintain, repair and upgrade facility equipment and systems which include:

HVAC systems, Mist Collectors, Dust Collectors, Lighting systems, Phones and DataSystems, High Voltage Electrical Power Distribution Systems (110, 220, 480 and 13.8KVA), Pumps, Waste Treatment Plant, Air Compressors, Boilers, Offices, Emergency Generator, Elevator, office equipment, Alerton Building Management System, other facilities communication Systems, etc…

 Ability and willing to work weekends, plant shut down’s and holiday’s to perform High and Medium Voltage System Maintenance Projects and other facility related projects.

 Fabrication and welding skills are a plus.

 Able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height

 Willing to lead, design and complete facility improvement projects.

 Responsible to follow all Plant Safety Guidelines.

 Willing to work with Facility Contractors and review work for compliance with Cummins Electrical Specifications and Safety procedures. Exercise the ability to stop work that is not inside the Cummins Safety procedures

 Knowledge of OSHA regulations, National Electric Code, Cummins Electrical Specifications, NFPA 70e and other Electrical Specifications.

 Attendance consistent with plant and facility team guidelines.

 Ability to support Facilities Team with non-electrical related maintenance projects as time allows.

 Can communicate via Cummins Electronic communication system such as Outlook and Lotus Notes.

 Willing to source needed material by requesting quotations from appropriate vendors.

 Ability to Learn, troubleshoot and repair of Electrical and Mechanical problems associated with Facilities related Equipment

 Ability to work with all facilities team members and other related areas


Must be able to pass a physical/maintain a valid Fork truck, Man lift and associated Cummins PIV licenses.

 Work in man lift as required. Must be able to work from heights on a regular basis (Manlifts, Ladders, Roofs, etc)

 Willing to work in the vicinity of and learn to interface with High and Medium Voltage Equipment (up to 115KV)

 Past facilities electrical experience recommended

The above, along with one of the following:

Must have completed seven (7) years’ experience working in the electrical trade field.

 Two (2) year Electrical degree plus (5) years’ experience in the electrical trade

 Completion of (5) year Electrical Journeymen’s Program.

Decision Making/Problem Solving; Ability to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; ability to reason, even dealing with emotional topics.

Decisiveness: Ability to make decisions quickly on available information and take action; make commitments and not change decisions when challenged; deal with emergencies as necessary.

 Alertness: Pay close attention when operating equipment (i.e.lockout/tagout, high voltage electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, lifts.

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
