Cummins are currently recruiting for several Manufacturing Operators to join our team specializing in Material Handling to start ASAP.

This role will be a 12 month temporary contract with an opportunity to transfer onto a permanent contract.

Salary is £26,137.00 plus shift allowance for working the afternoon shift

Working hours: 37.5hrs per week Monday – Friday

You will need to be fully flexible to work across the following shift patterns

  • Days 6.45am – 2.45pm

  • Afternoons 3.00pm – 11.00pm

Reporting to Team Leader & Area supervisor, ensure all duties within scope of the plant materials operations role are conducted to the desired quality standards, required delivery schedules & house-keeping standards.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • To always work in a safe manner ensuring own safety & those of your work colleagues & conduct the required safety checks.

  • To meet quality standards requirements of the business.

  • To ensure received material is delivered relevant production areas to the accuracy levels as required by the business – correct part, correct quantity, and correct identification and in the correct timely manner.

  • To ensure material is presented to the requisite standard and meets the customers’ requirements

  • To liaise with Team Leader and Supervision on all aspects affecting the smooth running of the operation. e.g.: Work Process, H&S, maintenance needs, facility requirements, business improvements etc.


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • MHE Operation, counterbalance, reach trucks and pedestrianized ride on MHE (Preferred) – Training will be given

  • Crane Operation, licenses, slinging and utilizing multiple lifting devices (Essential) – Training will be given

  • Experience in a Warehouse and logistics environment (Preferred)

  • Experience in PC and HHT use (Preferred)

  • Good level of numeracy & reading (Essential)

  • Good understanding of logistics and material flow aspects.

  • Ability to communicate both up & down stream issues affecting the operation.

  • PC/HHT literate

  • Quality awareness

  • HSE Appreciation and Awareness

  • Good attention to detail

  • MHE proficiency and licenses
