We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer – Blockline to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Segment in Columbus, Indiana.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Controls Engineering Knowledge - Applies the application of controls hardware and software by specifying, reviewing, and approving company-owned and/or supplier designs for new or upgrades to existing equipment to interface with all levels of manufacturing systems.

  • Equipment/Capital Procurement - Selects manufacturing equipment which meets the Cummins manufacturing specifications and meets the project or program needs.

  • Industrial Engineering Knowledge - Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

  • Problem Solving - Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.

  • Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety in order to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Basic level of relevant work experience required.Primary responsibility for second shift manufacturing engineering

  • Continuous improvement projects on tooling, scrap, quality improvements and efficiency

  • Project management activities that will include capital project management

  • Manage 2nd shift tool room personnel

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
